What is Organization Planning?

Organization planning is a systematic framework for taking the bi-products of the strategic business planning process and drilling-down further to identify, plan and establish the organizational properties, structures & capabilities (i.e., design) necessary to achieve the strategic goals & objectives of the business. We start by ensuring a sound (and documented) understanding of the major business processes necessary for accomplishing the work of the organization. We then determine the organization structure(s), roles, relationships, information technologies, performance measures, reward systems, and other requirements necessary to effectively and efficiently perform those key business processes.

Why Do Organization Planning?

  • Fully complete the strategic planning process by ensuring the organizational properties, capabilities & design necessary to achieve strategic goals & objectives.

  • Identify structures, roles, and systems necessary to support key business processes.

  • Replace “reactivity” with “pro-activity” in how your organization thinks and operates.

  • Develop detailed plans to guide and coordinate effective change management.

  • Support organizational growth, diversification and/or contraction.

What Makes Our Approach Unique?

Unlike many other consulting firms, OUR APPROACH to improving organization functioning is biased toward the firm understanding and effective management of "THE WORK."  We don't start with people, and we don't start with systems & technologies ... We start with "THE WORK!"

Secondly, we apply our proprietary JTSA Organization Planning & Change Management Process Model as a working guide to all organization planning and change management engagements.  This model is built upon solid practices and principles that are time-tested and have proven both effective and reliable to the management of change initiatives, regardless of scale.

Seven-Step Change Model

Finally, in today's world it is important that organizations develop the processes and internal competencies to manage "ongoing change."  Our approach is designed to bring those processes and those competencies "in-house" so your organization can effectively plan and execute new change initiatives without ongoing dependency on external consultants.
